Tuanbowa, or Tuanbo Lake, is listed in the "List of Wetland Nature Reserves in China" and is designated as Tianjin Wetland and Bird Nature Reserve. The lake covers an area of 6666.7 hectares, with a storage capacity of 180 million cubic meters, covering an area of about 60 square kilometers, a water area of 51 square kilometers, and a wetland area of about 11 square kilometers, which is equivalent to 11 West Lake in Hangzhou, 7 Dongli Lake, and 5 Tianjia Lake. It is known as the lung of Tianjin and can effectively regulate the air humidity in Tuanbo residential area.
Among the 55 species of wild plants, 164 species of rare birds (swans, mandarin ducks, egrets, red snipes, and willow warblers) have thrived for generations. There are abundant geothermal resources here. Tuanbo Lake is rich in more than ten kinds of aquatic products, such as carp, silver carp, Chinese mitten crab, etc.
According to the data of the National Tourism Monitoring Center, the air quality of Tuanbo Lake meets the national standard for Class A tourist attractions, and also meets the stringent standard of "National Class A Natural Scenic Spot". The air quality in the area is the highest in Tianjin, and it is the healthiest and livable area in Tianjin.
The famous poet Guo Xiaochuan, the writer Wu Zuguang, the cartoonist Zhong Ling and other famous people have lived here. Guo Xiaochuan's song "Autumn in Tuanbowa" has made it even more famous.
