ASTM A106 seamless steel pipe is a seamless steel pipe made of American standard carbon steel material. It is a long strip of steel with a hollow cross-section and no joints around the periphery. Steel pipes have a hollow cross-section and are widely used as pipelines for transporting fluids, typically in high-temperature and high-pressure environments. ASTM A106 seamless steel pipes can be divided into hot-rolled pipes, cold-rolled pipes, cold drawn pipes, extruded pipes, etc. according to different production methods. 
Hot rolled seamless pipes are generally produced on automatic pipe rolling units. The solid tube is inspected and surface defects are removed, cut into the required length, centered on the end face of the tube blank perforation, and then sent to the heating furnace for heating, and perforated on the perforation machine. During perforation, the tube continuously rotates and advances, and under the action of the rolling mill and the top, a cavity gradually forms inside the damaged tube, which is called a capillary tube. Then it is sent to the automatic pipe rolling machine for further rolling, and the wall thickness is uniformly adjusted throughout the machine. The sizing machine is used for sizing to meet the standard requirements. The use of a continuous rolling mill to produce hot-rolled ASTM A106 seamless pipes is an advanced method. ASTM A106 seamless pipes have a wide range of applications, mainly used as pipelines or structural components for transporting fluids. These two processes differ in terms of precision, surface quality, minimum size, mechanical properties, and microstructure.
