4. Allowable deviation in size
4.1 Circular tube - The outer wall difference shall not exceed+0.5%, and the circumference shall be close to 0.005 inches (0.1 mm), from the required outer diameter to the required outer diameter of 1.900 inches (48 mm) or less+ 0.75%, approximately 0.005 inches (0.1 millimeters) around, from the required outer diameter to the required outer diameter of 2.00 inches (5 centimeters) and larger. The size of the outer diameter must be measured at a distance of at least 2 inches (5 centimeters) from the pipe end.
4.2 Square and rectangular structural pipes - The external dimensions must be measured at a distance of at least 2 inches (5 centimeters) from the end of the pipe, and must not differ from the required external dimensions by the appropriate values given in Table 3, including concave and convex tolerances.
4.3 Wall thickness - The minimum wall thickness measured at any point on the pipe shall not be less than 10% of the required wall thickness. The maximum wall thickness, including the weld seam of the pipe, cannot exceed 10% of the required wall thickness. The wall thickness of square tube and rectangular tube is only applicable at the center position.
4.4 Length - Structural pipes are typically produced in varying lengths of 5 feet (1.5 meters), multiple lengths, and specified lengths.
4.5 Straightness - The allowable deviation for the straightness of structural pipes is 1/8 inch multiplied by the total length divided by 5 feet (10 millimeters multiplied by meters).
4.6 Square surface - The adjacent edges of the square tube and rectangular tube are at 90 °, with a maximum allowable deviation of+2%.
4.7 Corner radius - The outer corner of each interface between square and rectangular tubes shall not exceed three times the required wall thickness.
4.8 Bending - The allowable tolerances for the bending of square tube are shown in Table 5. The bending degree is measured by measuring the height of each Angular distance at the bottom from the opposite pipe end at one end of the fixed pipe on the flat plate and calculating the bending degree (these angles have different heights), except for the very large ones, it is allowed to use some suitable measuring tools to determine the bending degree. The bending test cannot be conducted at a distance of 2 inches (5 centimeters) from the pipe end.
